Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, Bangkok, Thailand

We booked a half day local tour that includes transport to Damnoen Saduak floating market and nearby attractions, the boat ride and private tour guide.

Our first stop was this local market which is literally on the train tracks which according to our tour guide, when the train comes, the stalls will make way. Unfortunately due to bad road conditions in the area that day, the train didn’t run.

Despite that, we got the chance to sample some local food in the area.

These are better than KFC…

The Damnoen Saduak floating market is pretty much a tourist affair. Interesting to see how so many boats wiggled its way through the narrow river.

Bali-Thai Restaurant @ I12 Katong

I went to a different outlet of Bali-Thai some time ago but didn’t like the experience and never tried again since.  But this outlet at I12 came highly recommended by my parents so we gave it a go and were very pleased with it.  It had become the kids’ favorite Thai restaurant.

Kids favourite – my son wanted a portion just for himself on our 2nd visit.IMG_9409 IMG_9406 IMG_9405 Mix & Match Meat & Noodle Set – choice of meat + a kind of noodle + a type of sauce.

Chicken chop seasoned well and juicy.  IMG_9410 Pad Thai & FishIMG_9408Chicken chop & Glass noodle with black pepper – very tasty and not too spicy.
IMG_9697Pineapple fried rice – kids loved this too, it was done without curry powder.
