Paris 2015 – Day 5

It was our last day in Paris and my shopping day! ūüôā ¬†No crazy shopping though, not much summer items and a lot of shops are on summer vacation.

Lunch at Fauchon cafe…never go shopping with hungry husband and kids.

It was so difficult to choose, everything looked both pretty and delicious!

IMG_3190 IMG_3191 IMG_3192 These were the only sweet pastries we had. ¬†They were good and there were actually many different things to choose from. ¬†However….IMG_3193

…the savoury ones were even more attractive!IMG_3196 IMG_3198 IMG_3199 IMG_3201

le Coq Rico @ Montmartre, Paris

Booked le Coq Rico because it has very good reviews on tripadvisor and also one of the few good restaurants that was not on summer vacation at the time.

IMG_3093 IMG_3094 IMG_3097 IMG_3098 They do not have a big menu but good enough for us to try a bit of everything.

The morning’s agenda was to visit Montmartre…we took the hop-on-off bus to the foot of the hill and walked up. ¬†It was an easy walk and there were a lot of shops along the way.

We walked around in the neighbourhood before we headed to our lunch venue.

We visited Sacre-Coeur after lunch, the grass field in front of the basilica is a great spot to relax and admire the view of Paris.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA IMG_3153 OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Paris 2015 – Day 3

The ideal plan of the day was first to see Notre Dame Cathedral and then the Latin quarters. ¬†When we got there after breakfast, the queue into the cathedral was impossible, couldn’t even see the end of it. ¬†Queues to the tower and the crypt were also too long for us. ¬†So in the end we just admired the cathedral from the outside and from across the river.

We had a walk in Latin quarter and had lunch at one of the restaurant in the area.  We were surprised that not many restaurants serve french onion soup!

We also had a stroll at the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens.  A lot of locals there enjoying their afternoon.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Rest of the afternoon was shopping time and walked into Le Bon Marche by chance!  It was not crowded at all and they carry most of the local brands I love.IMG_3071 Dinner was at a nearby restaurant.IMG_3073 IMG_3074 IMG_3078IMG_3075 IMG_3079Excellent beef tartar!IMG_3077IMG_3076 IMG_3080 IMG_3084
