Kani Douraku かに道楽, Dotonbori, Osaka, Japan

We made reservation at Kani Douraku かに道楽 道頓堀中店 the night before and we were 30mins late as we went to Osaka Castle prior.  We were so glad that they were still keeping the room (yes, we got a room!) though I didn’t call them about the delay.

They have some lunch sets which are around half the price of their dinner menu.  And to my surprise they also have kids meal!

There is crab hot pot rice in the set but since it needs 40mins to cook and we have a plane to catch, so we switched to crab sushi instead.

Fancy kids meal! Steamed egg with crab meat, crab sushi roll, crab leg salad and crab croquette.IMG_9333

Lunch sets – crab leg sashimi, steamed crab leg, crab dumpling.

It was not even 6pm yet but a lot of the popular restaurants and eateries already have queues.  We settled with Ganko がんこ寿司on Dotonbori, it still have plenty of tables when we got there around 6pm but had a short queue by the time we left.IMG_9291 The deep dried dishes were done well.  IMG_9271 I particularly liked this tofu cooked in 3 ways dish. IMG_9282Sushi was so-so.

Ginkaku-Ji 銀閣寺, Kyoto, Japan

I imagined Ginkaku-ji to be a lot bigger when I read about it on the tour book.  It is in fact a garden with small shrines inside, not big but very nice landscape.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The colours in the garden is just incredible.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Philosopher’s Walk 哲学の道, Kyoto, Japan

It was very relaxing along the Philosopher’s Walk and there weren’t many people (cannot possibly imagine how crowded it would be during fall leaves & cherry blossom seasons).OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Cats in this neighbourhood are very well fed.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWe went passed this small cafe on the way to Philosopher’s Walk. Nanzen-ji 南禅寺, Kyoto, Japan

We started from Nanzen-ji 南禅寺 and from there over to Philosopher’s Walk 哲学の道 and ended at Ginkaku-ji 銀閣寺.  It was a long yet enjoyable walk.  OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA The main gate of Nanzen-ji.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA There are plenty of maple trees surrounding the temple.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
