Macaron #1

Made macarons for the very first time!  It is intimidating but thanks to the detail sharing by Not So Humble Pie, it was a good start…



I think the batter was too thick, probably the amount of almond meal was not rightIMG_5921

The cookies turned out a bit too tall but the texture was ok.IMG_5923

140C might be too high and browned the cookies but tried lower temperature and the cookies seemed not getting properly cooked.IMG_5927

Made chocolate ganache as filling.IMG_5931


The texture seemed fine when it was freshly baked – crunchy on outside and chewy inside.  After storing in the fridge for two days, the outside turned a bit soft.

Considering even C eats these and asked for peanut butter as filling next time, I would say  this was a very encouraging first time. 🙂
