Made macarons for the very first time! It is intimidating but thanks to the detail sharing by Not So Humble Pie, it was a good start…
I think the batter was too thick, probably the amount of almond meal was not right
The cookies turned out a bit too tall but the texture was ok.
140C might be too high and browned the cookies but tried lower temperature and the cookies seemed not getting properly cooked.
Made chocolate ganache as filling.
The texture seemed fine when it was freshly baked – crunchy on outside and chewy inside. After storing in the fridge for two days, the outside turned a bit soft.
Considering even C eats these and asked for peanut butter as filling next time, I would say this was a very encouraging first time. 🙂
I am not a big fan for sweet black sesame soup but as I was searching for recipe for black sesame dumpling, I came across a recipe that could do both…very easy to make and even my girl likes it.
Japanese black sesame I got from the supermarket, heat in the pan for 10-15mins
Heat rice flour in pan till turned a bit brown. Grind sesame & rice flour together.
Add approx 1 table spoon of the mixture to every 100ml water, add rock sugar to taste…
Dry black sesame and rice flour mixture could be kept in the fridge.
