Glutinous Rice Cake 年糕


I didn’t plan to make it for Chinese New Year but the store bought ones were really too sweet for my kids and oddly that’s one of the very few dessert that she likes…

Thanks to the easy recipe from Christine’s Recipe, I made first ever 年糕.  photo

The texture is a bit different from what I am used to when I was young – hard when chilled, like a block of cheese.

This one is soft and chewy.IMG_5727

Texture still holds after frying, didn’t turn sticky.  And kids are both happy with it.IMG_5726
