Taipei 2014 – Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall & Linjiang Street Night Market

It was super peak time and last minute planning so Taipei turned out to be the most reasonable place to visit during the holidays.  There were 6 of us and most popular touristy hotels were full but I managed to book a 2-room service apartment near a train station.  It was not too close to tourist areas but easy enough to get to most places within 30mins by train.

There aren’t many eateries near the service apartment but there is a nice little coffee shop with pretty good coffee.

Our first tourist stop…Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall 中正紀念堂…just in time to see the ceremony of taking down the national flag.

We then walked over to Wing Hong Street 永康街 for dinner, part 1…

End the day with night market visit…Linjiang Street Night Market 臨江街夜市…and it turned out it was only about 15mins walk from our service apartment.
